Melissa Pol from the Tuwharetoa Health Charitable Trust contacted us via our online free cup application form. Because of the generosity of online cup donations from our generous customers and our “Buy one Give one” program we are able to send these cups to Melissa today!
“My role as a Maternal Services Social Worker in Taupo and a Healthy Homes Assessor in Turangi sees me working with vulnerable women and families. Sometimes financial pressure is so great that basic necessities such as sanitary items aren’t seen as a need but more so a want. This period poverty is affecting young women’s lives and it shouldn’t have to. Having the ability to give out a menstrual cup is amazing. Not only are we eliminating the ongoing monthly cost of periods for these financially vulnerable families, we are educating them about the long term positive effects using a cup will have on the environment. Thank you to those of you who have made this possible.”
We are so grateful for people like Melissa who have identified areas of need and feels that she has the ability to share knowledge and enhance the lives of those she comes in contact with!
